Installation Engineer All Rounder South Yorkshire PLCs / Electrical / Site Work £45-48k + OvertimeSamuel Frank is recruiting for an Installation Engineer to join a well-established engineering business based in South Yorkshire.Established in the mid-1990s, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering bespoke machinery and engineering solutions. The business remains family-run, offers a relaxed working environment and has a reputation for being flexible and supportive of its employees.The successful Installation Engineer will split their time approximately 50/50 between working at the companys Doncaster facility and carrying out installation, testing and commissioning work at customer sites across the UK (and occasionally internationally).This Installation Engineer role would suit someone who enjoys variety. One day could involve assisting with PLC and HMI software testing, electrical fault finding and machine setup.
The next could involve mechanical assembly support, factory testing or customer site work.Key aspects of the Installation Engineer role include:Supporting PLC and HMI software testing, modifications and fault findingAssisting with electrical testing, panel checks and machine setup activitiesWorking from electrical drawings to carry out wiring checks and fault diagnosisSupporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities before equipment leaves the factoryCarrying out commissioning and installation support work on customer sites throughout the UKAssisting with mechanical assembly, machine builds and general workshop activities when requiredSupporting machine testing, sensor checks, drive setup and safety circuit verificationTaking ownership of build documentation, machine labelling and dispatch preparationThe successful Installation Engineer will ideally have experience of:PLC fault finding and software supportReading and understanding electrical schematicsElectrical testing and machine commissioningIndustrial machinery, automation or special purpose machinery environmentsHands-on workshop, assembly or build support activitiesThe Installation Engineer role offers:Salary of £45-48kOvertime expected to increase earnings by around 20%Mix of workshop and site-based workPredominantly UK travel with limited overnight staysFamily-run business with a relaxed culture Long-established and financially stable companyWorking hours of 7:15am-4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 7:15am-11:45am FridayThis Installation Engineer position will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, likes variety in their working week and wants to be part of a close-knit engineering team where flexibility and teamwork are genuinely valued.TPBN1_UKTJ
