Inside Sales Representative & Estimator
Family-owned, and operated industry leader in custom industrial machining and manufacturing services. We specialize in building precision aluminum and zinc alloy die-casting and we are a proven industry leader in CNC machining, EDM machining, and the manufacturing and machining of large weldments and forged materials. Our focus is to remain on the cutting edge of technology, operating from an 80,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility in Grafton, WI.
Position Summary:
The Inside Sales Representative/Estimator is the primary contact for quoting, order entry, and order management inquiries, ensuring our customers and partners experience exceptional customer service. This critical role has in-depth knowledge of our existing customer needs and expectations and are also adept at handling inquiries and securing orders from new customers. Other responsibilities include negotiating and closing deals, educating customers, answering detailed questions about company capabilities, and providing estimates to both potential and current customers. The primary goal of this role is to drive sales and to provide excellent customer service for our customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain positive, long-lasting customer relationships with current and potential customers.
- Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives.
- Receive incoming calls and inquiries from customers to define their product need, resolve customer issues, and/or provide quotes for future orders.
· Be responsive and professional in answering incoming Customer telephone calls and/or email messages.
· Respond to inbound pre-sale questions over the phone, providing accurate and helpful information.
- Contribute to the retention of business through prompt, professional and accurate responses to inquiries from customers.
· Answer detailed questions regarding company capabilities, showcasing expertise and knowledge.
- Process all orders by creating and/or interpreting manufacturing drawings, creating manufacturing instructions, and generating an accurate bill of materials for production to assure accuracy, to reduce scrap and errors, and to enable an exceptional customer experience.
- Quote price, availability, and delivery options to customer.
· Perform various account administration functions such as entering orders, providing customer quotes, entering data into various databases and resolving customer issues.
· Maintain up to date customer information including product requirements.
- Ability to be self-motivated, resourceful, and personable.
- Understand engineering drawings.
· Be a trusted resource and advisor for our Customers who provides technical expertise, specification knowledge, pricing, and customer-centric solutions.
· Act as a primary point of contact for assigned Customer Account(s), and develop a comprehensive understanding of their people, needs, products, and pricing structure.
· Demonstrate a basic understanding and ability to navigate non-assigned Customer Accounts, to assist teammates in delivering exceptional customer experience.
· Accurately determine material and product costs for Customer price quotes, based on your review of specific project requirements and/or plans.
· Master quoting: reviewing and creating quotes in an accurate and timely manner. Fully understand the impact and source of processing errors and non-conformance issues and take ownership of errors and immediately work to disclose and correct them.
· Effectively and professionally address and resolve Customer inquiries, problems, concerns and complaints
· Communicate effectively with all personnel in various departments regarding specific Customer Account needs.
Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· A high-school diploma, and at least 2+ years’ experience in customer service, customer-interacting, or customer-facing role is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· A high-school diploma or Associate’s degree, with at least 2+ years of quoting/estimating experience.
· Experience reading blueprints is a must.
· Advanced Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Previous experience working within an ERP/Epicor database system .
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; including the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing with customers, and internally at all levels of the organization.
· High attention to detail and a consistent history of accuracy in completed work.
· Strong “customer first” mindset, and well-developed customer service skills.
