Inside Construction Estimator & Permit Manager in Garner

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout the Role:Odyssey Contracting LLC is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Inside Construction Estimator & Permit Manager to join our growing team in Garner, NC. This is a key role where you'll play a critical part in keeping projects moving from bid to build — all from the office. Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and competitive construction cost estimates for residential and/or commercial projects
• Review project plans, specifications, and scopes of work to develop detailed bid packages
• Manage the full permit application process, including submitting, tracking, and securing permits across jurisdictions
• Coordinate with project managers, field crews, and subcontractors to ensure permit timelines align with project schedules
• Maintain organized records of all estimates, permits, and related documentation
• Communicate with local municipalities, inspectors, and permitting offices to resolve issues and expedite approvals
• Assist in value engineering and identifying cost-saving opportunities during the estimating phase

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in construction estimating, permit management, or a related role
• Familiarity with residential and/or commercial construction processes and terminology
• Experience navigating municipal permitting portals and working with local building departments
• Strong proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external agencies
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
