Summary
The State of Michigan is seeking an Infrastructure Solutions Architect to support the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This role ensures the stability, scalability, security, and integrity of mission-critical statewide infrastructure used to deliver public health and human services. The architect will design and validate system architectures, support hybrid cloud deployments, guide data modeling and governance efforts, and ensure compliance with enterprise standards. This position plays an essential role in enabling application teams to build, maintain, and modernize systems across the DHHS technology landscape.

Responsibilities
Create, maintain, and validate system-level designs, architectural diagrams, and technical specifications.
Design and architect and hybrid cloud deployments across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Develop, maintain, and integrate statewide data models to reduce redundancy and improve data resource usage.
Establish and document information architecture models consistent with enterprise data management practices.
Define, maintain, and enforce architecture standards, configuration management policies, and data governance models.
Create and maintain metadata repositories, including documentation of data structures, flows, and dependencies.
Ensure data quality, integrity, usability, and security across all environments.
Develop data management strategies including retention, classification, and security.
Work with Project Managers to support project planning, architectural deliverables, and requirement gathering.
Collaborate with data stewards and technical teams to enforce data classification and architecture standards.
Participate in SDT sessions and facilitate cross-team communication and alignment.
Lead or support implementation of IT solutions, integrations, migrations, and consolidation efforts.
Review, validate, and recommend updates to technical designs, PM documents, and reference architecture artifacts.
Recommend solutions based on Technical Impact Assessments and ensure alignment with DTMB PMM, SEM, and Enterprise Architecture guidelines.
Validate architectural integrity across application environments, ensuring stability, scalability, and security.

Qualifications
3+ years of Network Administration experience.
5+ years of RHEL and OpenShift experience.
5+ years of Windows Server experience.
3+ years of SQL and Oracle experience.
5+ years of experience creating and maintaining systems documentation.
Experience designing and architecting solutions for AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud ( or hybrid cloud).
Experience with architecture tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or Draw.io.
Experience with IIS, Apache, or WAF administration or architecture.
Exposure to application servers such as WebLogic, WebSphere, or JBoss.
Experience architecting scalable, redundant Oracle or SQL Server databases.
Experience securing networks, web applications, and databases.
Familiarity with scripting or programming including C#, Java, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Ansible, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, or Veracode.
Experience working with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS architectures.
Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Experience architecting Kubernetes or OpenShift container orchestration environments.
