Lead Infrastructure EngineerUp to £55,000 + Benefits | Devon | Full-timeThe OpportunityThis is a key role within a busy environment where infrastructure underpins day-to-day operations and is an exciting opportunity to make improvements and really shape the direction of travel for the business from an infrastructure perspective.Youll take ownership of the organisations infrastructure and backend systems, ensuring they are reliable, secure and scalable, while also playing a key role in how the environment evolves over time.The position is predominantly hands-on with an element of leadership, giving you the opportunity to stay close to the technology whilst influencing direction and supporting others.What Youll Be DoingInfrastructure Delivery & ProjectsLead the implementation and deployment of infrastructure solutionsEnsure projects are delivered in line with design, timelines and business needsCarry out testing and validation to ensure performance and reliabilityMaintenance & OptimisationOwn monitoring, alerting and proactive issue resolutionManage patching, upgrades and ongoing system maintenanceAnalyse performance and plan for future capacity requirementsSecurity & ComplianceEmbed security best practices across infrastructure environmentsSupport vulnerability management, testing and risk mitigationEnsure alignment with relevant standards and regulatory requirementsLeadership & CollaborationProvide technical guidance and mentorship to a small teamWork closely with cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure solutionsContribute to architectural and technology decisionsDocumentation & Knowledge SharingMaintain clear documentation across systems and processesSupport knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the teamWhat Theyre Looking ForProven experience in infrastructure engineering within a fast paced and ever-changing environment and strong knowledge of:VirtualisationCloud platformsNetworking, storage and backend systemsExperience supporting highly available environmentsGood understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practiceStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilityAbility to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersThe EnvironmentOperationally critical infrastructureCollaborative IT function with a focus on continuous improvementBalance of hands-on engineering and leadership responsibilityWhy This Role?High-impact position with real ownershipOpportunity to influence infrastructure direction and standardsBroad, varied role across projects, operations and strategyStable, well-established organisationTPBN1_UKTJ
