Overview
We are seeking an Infrastructure Architect who will be responsible for researching, planning, and installing enterprise solutions that may include networking or software technologies and supporting life safety systems that directly impact the public.



**MUST CURRENTLY LIVE IN HAMPTON ROADS, VA (Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, or Williamsburg). All applications outside of this area will be automatically rejected**

Responsibilities:

• Research, plan, and install enterprise solutions involving networking or software technologies.
  
• Support life safety systems impacting the public.
  
• Assess existing network, software, and current solutions; make recommendations based on product specifications and best cybersecurity practices.
  
• Configure equipment and software to meet business needs.
  
• Train others on the solution and document it for ongoing support.
  
• Provide technical support and assist with the design of infrastructure solutions.
  
• Respond to Tier 1 and 2 network and software support requests.
  
• Communicate effectively with teammates and customers of varying technical expertise.
  
• Respond to all break/fix requests associated with network resources.
  
• Design extensions of and connections to the campus network.
  
• Assist with configuration and deployment of new/replacement network hardware and communications infrastructure.
  
• Develop and maintain up-to-date project and architecture documentation.
  
• Maintain up-to-date inventory and maintenance records.
  
• Monitor network resources for faults and traffic anomalies.
  
• Resolve connection issues between users and resources.
  
• Maintain detailed change history of network changes.
  
• Support ITS Field Maintenance with communications implementation and troubleshooting.
  
• Support team efforts to improve cybersecurity controls and defenses.
  
• Support team efforts for threat hunting and mitigation.
  
• Manage time and resource constraints.
  

Qualifications:

• 6-10 years of hands-on networking experience.
  
• 4-year degree in computer science or another technology discipline, or industry certifications with 10+ years of experience. A 4-year degree in a technical discipline is strongly desired.
  
• Experience in the technical services and support field, as well as systems and network administration (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.).
  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve department service and support objectives for the Transportation Operations Center.
  
• Ability to manage medium complexity work efforts and provide limited leadership to others.
