Job Description
Business / IT Program Manager
We are seeking a highly experienced Business / IT Program Manager to join our Business Transformation Team or IT PMO. This role will lead the delivery of critical initiatives that support business growth and operational efficiency, working closely with business partners, IT teams, and external vendors.
** Candidate needs to be within driving distance of Madison, WI to be able to go onsite as needed, 5-10% of the time. **
** NO C2C ALLOWED **
The Program Manager will be responsible for two primary initiatives:
1. Environmental Insurance Program (Approx. 50% of role)
This initiative focuses on:
- Configuring the policy administration system to enable policy booking.
- Supporting reporting and financial system needs
- Enhancing the Underwriting Workbench to reduce manual underwriting effort
2. Policy Administration Enhancements (Approx. 50% of role)
One of the following initiatives will be assigned:
- Enhancements to the policy administration system to support multiple insurance products
OR
- Enhancements to policy administration and related systems to support a new Commercial Property business
Day in the Life
This is a true Business/IT Program Manager role, requiring balanced leadership across both domains. You will drive end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives by:
- Developing and maintaining detailed project plans
- Driving teams toward defined milestones and outcomes
- Identifying and managing risks, issues, and dependencies
- Developing budgets, forecasts, and tracking financial performance
- Managing vendors and third-party partners
- Delivering clear, concise communications to project teams and senior stakeholders
Required Technical Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering complex, enterprise-level initiatives
- Strong experience with Agile / Agile methodologies
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Strong financial management skills (budgets, forecasts, cost-benefit analysis)
- Proven experience managing vendors
- Insurance industry experience required
- Clear mix of business and IT-driven projects
