Job Description

The Information Security Analyst is a vital contributor to USANs Information Security Program, playing a crucial role in safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of USANs and its customers' information and IT assets. The Analyst specializes in both general and AWS-specific security practices, including deploying security applications, monitoring security operations, and managing comprehensive security solutions in AWS.

Position Objectives:

  • Conduct daily monitoring, tuning, and operational management of security systems, including SIEM, IPS/IDS, FIM, UBA, IAM, MFA, and AWS security tools such as GuardDuty and Inspector.
  • Serve as the primary resource for managing vulnerability scanning programs, conducting periodic assessments using internal platforms and AWS Inspector.
  • Oversee cybersecurity technologies' implementation, configuration, and ongoing support to enhance security posture.
  • Actively participate in third-party information security audits, utilizing standard and AWS-specific audit tools.
  • Assist in configuring, maintaining, and monitoring compliance of security resources and AWS CI/CD build templates.
  • Support the Information Security Manager with risk assessments, incident response, security assessments, audits, and gap remediation.
  • Review daily logs from AWS (CloudTrail, CloudWatch) and traditional security systems to identify cybersecurity events and ensure compliance.
  • Keep abreast of emerging information security trends and evaluate innovative technologies for potential incorporation into USANs security framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily operations, tuning, and monitoring security systems, including SIEM and AWS GuardDuty.
  • Assist in incident response under the guidance of the Information Security Manager and AWS-specific incidents, ensuring timely investigation and resolution.
  • Configure and manage IAM solutions, including two-factor authentication systems and AWS roles and permissions.
  • Coordinate the File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) processes, focusing on configuration, management, and incident response.
  • Participate in periodic and project-specific risk assessments, focusing on AWS environments and general enterprise systems.
  • Conduct scheduled vulnerability assessments, performing weekly evaluations for production environments and weekly assessments in AWS.
  • Maintain readiness to deploy forensic tools promptly during incident response activities.
  • Ensure timely completion of quarterly entitlement reviews, managing both traditional access reviews and AWS roles and permissions.
  • Assist the sales team with addressing customer-generated security questionnaires.
  • Support senior leadership during third-party audits (PCI, HIPAA, SOC2).
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities assigned by the management team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in information security roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience configuring and monitoring AWS security tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and complete project milestones and achieve organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • CISSP certification
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate Certification
  • AWS Security Specialty Certification
  • Experience implementing and operating network security systems.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PCI, SOC2).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for effective security incident management.
  • Expertise in vulnerability and exploit research and analysis.
