Job DescriptionJob Description

Position Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance – 1st Shift
Location: Panama City, FL
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

About Central Moloney:

At Central Moloney, we don’t just make transformers — we help power communities. For more than 40 years, our ISO 9001-certified team has built a reputation for innovation, reliability, and craftsmanship. Our products keep homes lit, schools running, and businesses moving forward across the country. We take pride in a culture where people roll up their sleeves, work together, and keep safety and quality at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a hands-on Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to be a go-to problem solver for our production equipment and facility systems. If you enjoy fixing things, staying busy, and learning new skills every day, this is your chance to grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where your work directly impacts production. From keeping machines running smoothly to supporting big improvement projects, you’ll be part of a team that values your expertise, your ideas, and your commitment to doing the job right.

What You’ll Do:

As our Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician, you’ll be the go-to for keeping our equipment and facility in top shape. You’ll:

  • Stay ahead of downtime by performing preventive maintenance and routine inspections on production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot like a pro when mechanical or electrical issues pop up, getting equipment back online quickly.
  • Get hands-on with motors, bearings, belts, pulleys — installing, aligning, replacing, and fine-tuning them for peak performance.
  • Tackle electrical basics like wiring tasks, swapping out lighting fixtures, and replacing electrical components.
  • Pitch in plant-wide by supporting 5S, safety practices, and continuous improvement projects that make work better for everyone.
  • Keep things documented — accurately recording maintenance work and sharing updates so the team is always in the loop.

What You Bring:

You don’t need to check every single box — if you’ve got the drive to learn and a solid maintenance foundation, we want to hear from you. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Hands-on know-how — 1–3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Mechanical and electrical basics — you’re comfortable with hand/power tools, mechanical systems, and electrical safety.
  • A knack for problem-solving — you can read manuals, diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot effectively.
  • Physical readiness — you can lift up to 50 lbs., work on ladders, and navigate a busy production floor.
  • A continuous improvement mindset — familiar with (or excited to learn about) 5S, Kaizen, and Lean practices.

Bonus Skills (Not Required):

  • Prior experience in manufacturing.
  • Exposure to electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFDs) or basic PLC troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work a full-time 1st shift schedule, including overtime or weekend coverage as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Lifting: Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Environment: Work in a facility with loud noise, extreme temperatures, and environmental stressors.
  • Physical Activities: Sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, crouch, reach, and grasp as needed.
  • PPE: Wear the required PPE, including eye and hearing protection, gloves, and safety toe footwear.
  • Dexterity and Vision: Manual dexterity and specific vision abilities (close, distance, , peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment).
  • Stamina: Stand for long shifts.
  • Skills: Effective communication, basic math skills, and teamwork.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and address hazards.

Benefits:

  • Competitive, comprehensive package including Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 401(k), Retirement Plan, and more.
  • Company-paid health and dental coverage for employees — we invest in your well-being.
  • Opportunities to grow your skills, advance your career, and receive hands-on training.
