INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC
Job Summary:
Performing repairs to a variety of equipment including but not limited to; pumps, blowers, vacuum pumps, gearboxes, centrifuges, chippers, crushers, and an infinite type of industrial machinery. All equipment is number stamped to identify reassembly and fitting measurements are taken as a piece of equipment is disassembled. All measurements are documented and compared with factory standards. Assembly is performed according to factory specifications and dimensions are carefully documented. Mechanics work may, at times, be performed at the customers' plant. Precision work is required, and employee must be able to work under, and take direction from the Work Leader.
Work to be Performed:
- Mechanical disassembly of various equipment.
- Inspection of parts and documentation of all dimensions.
- Meticulous cleaning of all rotating parts.
- Assembly of equipment with replacement parts.
- Testing of final assembly by running or taking measurements.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting on occasion in excess of 50 lbs.
- Standing at work bench and working on equipment for eight hours per day.
- Ability to climb on or over large pieces of equipment in order to do repairs
Knowledge, Experience and Education:
- Mechanical repair experience of three years required.
- High School diploma required.
- Trade School or other mechanical training .
- Must have good mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of mathematics in required.
Miscellaneous Requirements:
- A valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s license.
Responsibility for Safety:
- Safety shoes and safety glasses are required.
- Hard hats are required when large pieces of equipment present a falling hazard.
- Hearing protection must be used when grinding or when other operations create a noisy work area in excess of 85 decibels.
- Dust respirators as required.
Required Base Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm (Mandatory Overtime Availability Required)
Listed Hourly Pay is a Base-Range and will Depend on Experience.
