Job Purpose

/ Responsible for assembling, testing, servicing and installing metallurgical processing equipment domestically and internationally. Assist in the assembling of the mechanical equipment using prints and schematics in an industrial shop environment. Additionally, the Industrial Mechanic will assist with testing and check out, as well as equipment start-up assistance. Candidate will also assist in handling electrical maintenance and troubleshooting tasks for facility manufacturing equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

/ Shipping and receiving duties

/ Read technical instructions and assembly drawings

/ Assembles and assists in the assembly of chamber weldments, steel structures, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems. Troubleshoots as needed.

/ May assist in welding including mig, tig, and stick.

/ Rigs own lifts and/or assist in rigging lifts.

/ Performs various types of plumbing including threading pipe, soldering copper pipe, and bending hydraulic tubing.

/ Performs installation and/or trouble shooting work at customer job sites both international and domestic.

/ Works with the facilities manager and production managers to schedule down time for preventive maintenance.

/ Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery as recommended by manufacturer.

/ Use a variety of hand, power, and machine tools to perform assignments.

/ Help build, modify and update SECO/WARWICK industrial control and power systems.

/ Help fabricate, and install various types of wire, cable, conduit, and cable tray systems.

/ Help perform equipment testing and checkout activities at the factory and/or at the end user’s installation site.

/ Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

/ Strong interpersonal skills, as well as skills in delegation, prioritization, and facilitation.

/ Must know how to read Blueprints

/ Must know how to read Digital Calipers

/ Basic shipping and receiving knowledge required (International shipping experience is a plus but not required).

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

/ Background in Manufacturing a plus

/ 1 year work experience in mechanical maintenance, assembly in manufacturing plant, millwright work or similar

/ Understand or willing to learn NIST, AMS, and NADCAP standards

/ Operates overhead bridge crane, jib cranes (1-20 ton) and various sizes of forklifts

/ Able to drive forklifts, use overhead cranes, and knowledge of rigging

/ Must be a team player and willing to work overtime and weekends

Training Required:

/ Mandatory training including Seco/Warwick , as well as additional training as specified by the VP Engineering. Retraining will be provided as procedures are revised.

The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, vision and depth perception.
