The Role
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic professional with a passion for enabling the green transition, decarbonising industry and developing investment strategies for new industrial development across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
You will have at least 5 years’ experience in a planning or design background, be interested in strategic consulting and front end design. In your role you will have flexibility to be based in either London, U.K. or Madrid, Spain but will work remotely across the world with opportunities for short term international project-based travel.
This is a diverse role with great opportunity to develop within the green industry sector. As an Industrial Master Planner, you will be part of our Advisian Transport, Infrastructure and Logistics (TIL) Business Line in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Region.
You will:
- Work in a global master planning network with the combined goal to support and grow the industrial master planning service across all regions
- Prepare pre-concept and concept master plans, spatial strategies and development frameworks for various industrial facilities, green energy, industrial hubs and special economic zones
- Undertake pre-feasibility and feasibilities studies, site selection studies, market analysis, project due diligence and client-side technical advisor roles
- Assist with business development and bid preparation to grow a world-class industrial master planning capability
- Collaborate with other Advisian business lines of TIL, Environment & Water (E&W), and Energy, Chemicals & Resources (ECR) Advisory to cross-sell and enhance the client service offer
- Integrate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) into the spatial master planning process, finding innovative solutions to make facilities greener, more user centric and efficient
- Be passionate and willing to integrate AI and generative design capabilities in the master planning process
- Be willing to travel on business and have a desire to experience different cultures and ways of working
Skills/qualifications required:
- 5+ years experience in a relevant consulting, planning or architecture with successful track record of working on industrial master planning projects
- Experience in “Design Thinking” and user-centric design principles
- Excellent communication skills (graphically and verbally)
- Be a strategic thinker, curious, analytical, and interested in outside-box solutions
- Be collaborative and comfortable in group workshop environments
- Always seeking innovation and continual improvement
- Understand the importance of clear narrative and story-driven approach
- Have recent relevant master planning experience in the EMEA region
- Project management skills
- Ability to travel and work with a team
- Assist in the use of technology in improving delivery and performance.
- Good working knowledge of 3D design software (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino 3D, AutoCAD and GIS)
- Knowledge of AI generative design tools and capabilities is beneficial
- Knowledge of scripting tools (such as Grasshopper) is beneficial
- Fluent English communication skills (spoken & written).
