Job Title: Overnight Maintenance Technician

Shift: 3rd Shift | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Schedule: 5 days per week
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Overnight Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment and facility systems in a food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining safety, sanitation, and quality standards during overnight operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery such as mixers, conveyors, ovens, and packaging equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Maintain and inspect facility systems, including plumbing, lighting, and HVAC.

  • Use diagnostic tools to identify equipment malfunctions and perform root-cause analysis.

  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and part usage.

  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to reduce equipment downtime.

  • Respond quickly to equipment or facility emergencies to minimize production disruptions.

  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and proper use of PPE.

  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP guidelines, and company policies.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability.

  • Identify and report potential hazards or safety concerns in the work environment.

  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding maintenance progress or delays.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Proven experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

  • Familiarity with PLCs and automated equipment is a plus.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical schematics.

  • Basic computer skills for data entry, communication, and documentation.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently during overnight hours.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in tight spaces for extended periods.

  • Required to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks for up to 10 hours.

  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Must be comfortable working in varying temperatures (typically between 45&degree;F and 95&degree;F).

  • Exposure to moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection is required in production areas.

  • Will be exposed to machinery, tools, and moving parts in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Technical certifications or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems .

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Food manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
