Position Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities in a food manufacturing environment. This role ensures optimal utilization of labor, materials, and equipment to minimize downtime and support production goals. In addition, the Maintenance Planner oversees spare parts procurement, stocking, and inventory control, including cycle counts, while assisting the Maintenance Manager with additional duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

• Develop, coordinate, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for plant equipment and facilities.
• Work with the Maintenance Manager and technicians to prioritize and plan corrective maintenance activities.
• Prepare detailed work orders, including required tools, materials, and estimated time.
• Track and report on maintenance KPIs (downtime, PM completion, backlog, etc.).

Inventory & Spare Parts Management

• Order spare parts and supplies in line with budget and operational needs.
• Maintain accurate spare parts inventory and storage organization.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate stock levels.
• Work with vendors to source parts efficiently and cost-effectively.

Support & Collaboration

• Assist the Maintenance Manager with special projects, audits, and compliance initiatives.
• Provide support to maintenance technicians as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, cost reduction, and food safety compliance.

Skills

• Proficiency with CMMS (e.g., SAP, Maximo, or similar systems).
• Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Inventory management and purchasing knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning, industrial maintenance, or a related field (food manufacturing experience ).
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Experience managing spare parts inventory, purchasing, and cycle counting.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced food plant environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Comfortable working in a food plant environment (temperature variations, noise, etc.).

Additional Information

This position requires flexibility to perform additional duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager, including supporting production needs, assisting with vendor coordination, or stepping in to support maintenance activities when necessary.
