Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic

Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic trouble shoots, repairs, replaces, maintains and installs equipment, fixtures, facility, grounds, machines and accessories. The Mechanic may analyze maintenance issues and make recommendations for purchasing and/or supplies. Emphasis on technical and mechanical aspect of maintaining and repairing machinery.

Essential Job Functions

Assigned preventative maintenance tasks
Installs, troubleshoots repairs and maintains all machinery and fixtures in and outside the facility.
Scheduled repairs and maintains HVAC system
Uses millwright skills and machinery to manufacture/fix parts and machinery.
Able to skillfully work on motors, pumps, conveyors, high speed delivery equipment, printing press machinery, carpentry, plumbing and outdoor structures and components.

Works with limited oversight at times.

Safety awareness and conformity with all company and maintenance PPE.

Requirements
3 years’ experience a plus but not mandatory in industrial maintenance including strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Knowledge of and experience with basic machine electronics, working knowledge of welding/metal fabrication, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, hydraulics/pneumatics, small and large power tools and basic machining (drill press, lathe and cutting tools) and general building maintenance. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on occasion.

Other Skills/Abilities
Sense of urgency and ability to leave one task to immediately address an unforeseen emergency.
Lock out tag out experience.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic electrical knowledge is a plus but not requirement.
