Maintenance Mechanic – Midnight Shift
Location: Old Fort, OH
Shift: Wednesday–Saturday, 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Starting Pay: $34.07/hour (increases to $37.27/hour upon completion of training and demonstrated skill competency)

Join our Old Fort, OH manufacturing team where we proudly produce trusted products like Arm & HammerTM Baking Soda, Cat Litter, and Unit Dose Detergent. We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to support our production operations on the midnight shift.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on troubleshooting, problem-solving, and keeping equipment running at peak performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Candidates who demonstrate exceptional performance, reliability, and mechanical aptitude may be considered for advancement to an A+ Mechanic role — a premium position recognizing top talent with an hourly rate of $40.90.
What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll perform complex, skilled work involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems in a semi-automated production and distribution facility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Perform PLC troubleshooting and repairs
• Fabricate and weld piping and structural components
• Install, maintain, and rebuild pumps, compressors, and gearboxes
• Operate lathes, mills, and drill presses as needed for part fabrication
• Perform rigging, ironworking, and boiler maintenance tasks
• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently
• Work flexible schedules, including weekend rotations
• Complete non-routine maintenance and special projects as assigned
What You’ll Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 5 years of multi-skilled maintenance experience
• Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently
• Working knowledge of safe work practices, food safety programs, and basic HACCP principles
Skills & Abilities:
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills
• Ability to follow all safety and quality standards
• Team-oriented mindset with solid communication skills
• Commitment to continuous learning and skill development
A+ Mechanic – Advancement Opportunity
Exceptional Maintenance Mechanics may advance to the A+ Mechanic level based on demonstrated skill, performance, and reliability.
A+ Mechanic Key Responsibilities:
• Build, install, calibrate, and maintain production equipment in a 24/7 operation
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues related to electrical systems and controls
• Collaborate with Engineering and Technical teams on plant upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
• Plan, modify, and test control systems to improve efficiency and reliability (Lean principles)
• Write and update SOPs and technical documentation
• Perform PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley )
• Support and mentor other maintenance personnel
A+ Qualifications:
• Associate degree or equivalent technical training; or a current Journeyman/Plant Electrician License
• Minimum of 5 years of related controls experience
• Proficiency in PLC controls programming and troubleshooting
• Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently
