We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in industrial maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of machinery and equipment. This role requires proficiency in working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, and electrical systems. The Industrial Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our equipment while providing excellent customer service.

Scope of Position:

  • The Industrial Machinery Mechanic position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Read and use electrical diagrams and understand mechanical drawings to troubleshoot issues.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and replace mechanical, PLC and electrical components..
  • Maintain critical spare components inventory to support 24-hour operations.
  • Coordination of maintenance and repair with production and quality assurance teams.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting all aspects of equipment operations.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Define and maintain critical spare components.
  • Fabrication: Operate small equipment like grinders, drill press, measuring equipment.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Facility Maintenance skills electrical plumbing and HVAC a plus
  • Assist with equipment training and technology transfer to operators as needed.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma and/or technical degree Mechanical, electronics and / or PLC.
  • Minimum of 5 years in an electrical and mechanical support role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in performing industrial mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC troubleshooting and repair.
  • Effective communication & writing skills with multifunctional groups (QA, Engineering, Production).
  • Proven problem-solving skills and prioritization of tasks.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and programs (TPM, OEE, SAP)

Working Conditions:

  • Majority of work hours are spent in the production rooms fixing machines. Moderate to loud noise levels when equipment is running.

Physical Requirements:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and using hands to fix machines throughout the day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
