NPI / Industrial Engineer – Advanced Manufacturing

Our client is an established international manufacturer of highly engineered electrical and interconnect products supporting demanding applications across Oil & Gas, industrial energy and data centre infrastructure.
As part of continued growth within their Houston manufacturing operation, they are seeking an experienced NPI / Industrial Engineer to lead new product introductions and drive improvements across manufacturing processes, productivity, quality and cost. This is a hands-on position within a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment, offering significant involvement from initial product concept through to full-scale production.
About the Role
The NPI / Industrial Engineer will lead the introduction of new products into manufacturing while identifying opportunities to optimise existing production processes. Working closely with Design Engineering, Production and Quality, you will ensure products are designed for manufacturability, production processes are robust and scalable, and new programmes transition smoothly from engineering into production.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead NPI programmes from initial concept and pilot builds through to full production launch.
· Develop manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling requirements, BOMs and routings.
· Partner with Engineering on DFM/DFA, process validation, APQP, PPAP and First Article Inspection requirements.
· Analyse and improve production workflows through time studies, line balancing and capacity planning.
· Drive productivity, cost and quality improvements using Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies.
· Provide hands-on shop-floor engineering support, troubleshooting production issues and implementing sustainable solutions.
· Work closely with Quality and Production to reduce defects, scrap and cycle times while improving overall manufacturing performance.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
· 3–7+ years' experience within a manufacturing environment.
· Proven experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing process development.
· Experience within cable assemblies, electrical connectors or similar discrete manufacturing environments highly advantageous.
· Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
· Experience with time studies, line balancing and capacity planning.
· Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, BOMs, routings and work orders.

Security Requirements
