Industrial Electrician

  • Basic understanding and implementation of wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Knowledge of the installation and layout of cable and cable tray.
  • Assist with the installation of skid mounted instruments.
  • Verify that the skid mounted instruments are installed based on the latest P&ID
  • Perform cable gland make up at both instrument side and control panel locations.
  • Terminate skid mounted instruments, wiring in control panels, junction boxes, operator stations, VFD’s etc.
  • Ability to utilize wiring diagram for instrument terminations.
  • Assist with the verification and loop testing of all skids mounted instruments utilizing the correct testing equipment.
  • Terminate skid mounted instruments, wiring in control panels, junction boxes, operator stations, VFD’s etc.
  • Pull wire and cable to instruments.
  • Ability to utilize wiring diagram for instrument terminations.
  • Flexible Conduit on skid. (Note: 1/2” -2.0” GRC maximum size)
  • Have basic knowledge of material used for different environmental installations as It applies the various applications: NEMA 1, NEMA 4, CL1 DIV 2
  • Follow and comply with safety, work rules and regulations.
  • Maintain good departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the installation and layout of conduit and wire on skid packages.
  • Proficient with measuring, bending, cutting, threading reaming and installing GRC, EMT and Liquid Tight Basic knowledge and understanding of electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Understand the difference between analog input /outputs and digital input/outputs.
  • Works well as a productive member of a team.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools (Cutting, Stripping, Crimping Etc.) and use a multi-meter.
  • Knowledge of use of multi-meters and signal generators.
  • Basic computer skills

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician license required.
  • Experience with the use of electrical threading machines / both portable and stationary

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift to 30 pounds at a time.
  • Must have manual dexterity to assemble products or machines as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
  • Must wear gloves and ear protection when required.
