Location: Charlotte, NC | Travel: Up to 60% | Status: Exempt

What You’ll Do

• Lead and execute the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of industrial control systems.
• Engineer from the ground up — from schematics to code — across PLCs, SCADA, DCS, robotics, and instrumentation.
• Balance multiple projects, large and small, and drive them from concept to completion.
• Program and configure control systems in various and platforms (ladder logic, structured text, function block, HMI design, and more).
• Provide hands-on support during field start-ups, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate across engineering teams and customer stakeholders to deliver on-time, reliable automation solutions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry tools, networks, and technologies.
• Travel up to 60%, both domestically and occasionally internationally.

️ What You Bring

Must-Haves:

• Real-world experience in process control design, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, DCS, VFDs, SCADA, industrial networks, and instrumentation.
• Ability to deploy managed networks on industrial plant floors and work in virtualized environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills — you know how to collaborate, document, and deliver.

Nice-to-Haves:

• 7+ years in the industrial automation industry.
• BS degree in Engineering or a technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with Rockwell ControlLogix (and bonus points for exposure to Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, GE, Beckhoff, etc.).
• Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, and related protocols.
• Database skills (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB) a plus.
• Proven success in leading onsite startups and project commissioning.
