SUMMARY: The Industrial Automation Technician is responsible to ensure all depot equipment is performing properly, receiving proper preventative maintenance, and issues are quickly resolved when equipment needs repair. Supporting a network, this role will perform troubleshooting support both on-site and off-site as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve the depot network by ensuring the equipment in each location is operating properly through a combination of on and off-site support.
- Manage, in conjunction with depot management, preventative maintenance and repair procedures to maximize machine uptime and efficiency.
- Proactively communicate findings related to downtime with all operations to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with depot management to identify root cause(s) to cell/robot performance to develop plans to correct and prevent reoccurrence.
- Support management to develop SOPs, work instructions and training material for equipment operators across depot network.
- Serve as primary point of contact for depots in network for troubleshooting equipment problems as required.
- Investigate and problem-solve various mechanical/electrical/robotic issues.
- Assist and monitor all work being performed by outside contractors.
- Maintain inventory controls on spare parts usage.
- Train local management and associates on equipment, including daily use and maintenance needs.
- Position requires regular travel (50-75%) inside network.
- Position is based in either Hanover Park Ill, or Douglassville GA.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Indirectly supervises 1-2 employees per depot that are responsible for equipment operations in facilities.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training employees; planning, executing duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Two (2) years or more of strong background experience in maintenance, repair and preventative maintenance programs associated with automation equipment, robotics, conveyors, etc.
- Ability to read and follow electrical prints
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English (required) and Spanish (.)
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve problems on-site or remotely.
- Perform work independently under direction of supervisor, providing regular feedback and updates
- Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors.)
- Highly thorough and dependable; can regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours; ability to be on call and work overtime as needed
