Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Import Logistics: Oversee the importation process into the Americas, ensuring timely and efficient shipment deliveries.
- Collaborate with Partners: Coordinate with freight forwarders, international shippers, and transportation providers to streamline the shipping process.
- Customer Communication: Provide prompt and accurate shipment tracking information to internal teams and customers.
- Adaptability: Respond to changing shipment requirements, including expedited handling and other logistical challenges.
- Dispatch Notifications: Issue cargo dispatch notices for inland freight carriers.
- Hazardous Materials Compliance: Ensure shipments comply with hazardous materials regulations of the respective countries.
- Cost Efficiency: Evaluate transportation options to find the most cost-effective methods that guarantee timely delivery.
- Cross-Functional Support: Assist in various transportation-related tasks as needed, which may include temporary or permanent reassignment.
- Administrative Duties: Handle communication with carriers, expedite payments, review freight bills, and understand carrier rate structures.
- Departmental Coordination: Work closely with Customer Service and Warehouse Operations to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency: Fluent in English.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong PC skills, with SAP experience being advantageous.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities to perform effectively in a demanding, multi-task environment.
- Results-Oriented: Energetic and focused on achieving objectives and contributing positively.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively.
- Shipping Experience: Previous experience interacting with steamship lines.

- Hazardous Material Regulations: Familiarity with IMO, IATA, and DOT hazardous material regulations.

- ERP Systems: Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Cultural Competence: Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Material Movement: Basic understanding of different transportation modes and material movement.
- Experience: Multi-year operational experience with import ocean and air cargo logistics.
Educational Requirements:
- Minimum: High school diploma.
- : Bachelor’s degree in business, international logistics, or transportation.
