Overview:
Four Inc. is seeking an experienced Technical / Solutions Architect to join our growing IBM Public Sector team. This role blends technical expertise with customer engagement to design, present, and implement IBM solutions that address the unique challenges of public sector agencies. The ideal candidate has deep experience with AI and automation technologies, strong technical pre-sales skills, and the ability to partner closely with sales teams to drive customer success.
Essential Functions:
- Use business and technical acumen to understand federal agency missions, requirements, and environments
- Partner with IBM Public Sector sales teams to conduct technical discovery and align IBM solutions to agency requirements
- Support proof-of-concept efforts, workshops, trainings, and product evaluations for public sector customers
- Maintain and expand deep IBM technical certifications and competencies on a regular basis
- Develop technical product messaging, solution architectures, and whitepapers for customer presentations and proposals
- Collaborate with sales and leadership teams to proactively identify customer challenges and industry trends
- Design and demonstrate IBM solutions that address mission-critical needs in AI, automation, data, and analytics
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key technical stakeholders in the public sector
- Support proposal efforts in coordination with internal teams
- Represent Four Inc. in a professional, mission-focused manner during calls, emails, and meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, technical services, or technical engineering
- 3+ years of experience working with AI and automation technologies
- Proven experience developing and delivering technical demonstrations and solution designs required
- Demonstrated ability to create technical collateral, such as reference architectures, whitepapers, and presentations
- Prior experience with IBM or enterprise software products ; IBM technical certifications in AI, automation, cloud, or analytics a plus
- Experience working with federal, state, or local agencies in a technical capacity
- Working knowledge of federal compliance requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA, CMMC)
- Basic understanding of public sector IT environments and mission requirements
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize competing demands
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to present complex solutions clearly
- Solid interpersonal and relationship management abilities
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a strong desire to continuously learn and grow
- A passion for customer experience and public sector innovation, and for solving problems through technology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Comfortable with digital collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, Zoom)
- Ability to gain clearance
Physical Requirements:
The work is generally sedentary and performed in an office or remote setting; however, some travel to government or partner sites may be required. The position may require:
- Visual acuity to view computer screens, read technical documents, and perform data analysis
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
- Occasional lifting or carrying of equipment, boxes, or documents (typically under 25 lbs)
- Ability to hear and speak clearly in virtual and in-person meetings
