This position will be responsible for working with Account Managers, Customers, Hydraulic Systems Group members Joining Forces Companies to help bring them to a higher level in application design solutions. The system design, component selection and application safety are critical elements associated with the Technical Specialist position. The Technical Specialist will be directly involved in the Layout and application schematic required to support the demand. This person will also have the responsibility of making sure all critical notes are included in the submission and drawings such as: Dimensions, System Pressures, Paint and Tubing size, etc. This position will also be responsible for updating the Final Estimation Package for their System before submission and processing.

Essential Functions

  • In-depth understanding of industrial hydraulics and associated applications.
  • Industrial hydraulic component function within an application.
  • Ability to read, review and understand Schematic Drawings (Hydraulic / Electrical).
  • Create and Detail Fabrication Estimation Packages to include components, labor attributes and intangible details associated with an application solution.
  • Experience in generating a Formal Customer Quotation.
  • Experience in face-to-face customer sales calls, Industrial hydraulic systems application presentations and customer training.
  • Final Documentation & Project Closure.
  • Manage and follow a formal engineering process associated with defined Best Practices.

Experience, Education and Skills

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Technical degree, preferably in Fluid Power or similar, is
  • Fluid Power Certification is , not required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Industrial Hydraulics
  • Demonstrated Mechanical Design Basics (Fabrication and Layout)
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Access)
