The Hydraulic Field Service Technician performs installation, repair, and troubleshooting of moderate to complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic equipment and systems at the customer’s worksite. Extensive travel is required. Travel assignments frequently include overnight and extended periods away or maybe on an on-call basis. Requires 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. May require a degree or certification in an area of specialty. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Reports to the Field Service Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting of moderate to complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components or systems at customer worksites.
- When necessary, may be responsible for system/machine modifications at the job site. This includes but is not limited to material fabrication, assembly, and modification of equipment on job site assignments.
- Prepare detailed electronic field service reports utilizing Acrobat Adobe, Microsoft Office, and/or ERP software. Reports will include records of materials used, hours worked, travel expenses, and other project-related data.
- As a representative of Airline Hydraulics, communicate professionally and effectively with customers, co-workers, vendors, and sub-contractors, in an occasionally stressful environment.
- Perform duties safely and in accordance with Airline Hydraulics and customer’s safety guidelines and regulations.
- Work overtime as required to complete projects.
- Perform service repairs and related projects in-house when not working on field assignments.
- Complete all job-related training classes as assigned.
- Responsible for the upkeep of company vehicles and scheduling required maintenance through Enterprise Fleet Program.
- Perform other essential and related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of or older.
- A valid driver’s license is required, and an acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR). The MVR will be obtained at the company’s expense.
- 3-5 years of experience in field service, including experience with service of both hydraulic and electronic products and systems.
- Thorough working knowledge of hydraulic components, including knowledge of Bosch Rexroth components.
- Ability to interpret and analyze electro-hydraulic schematics.
- Basic AC/DC circuitry knowledge.
- Able to travel as needed overnight, for extended periods of time, or on an “on-call” basis.
- Strong computer skills. Capable of working with Microsoft Office and a variety of applications.
- Strong time management and organization skills. Must be able to work independently and successfully complete multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills. Must be capable of using written and verbal communications to effectively convey plans and specific details to internal and external customers.
- Ability to work in difficult physical and stressful situations for extended periods of time.
