SUMMARY: The Hydraulic Field Service Sales is responsible for generating sales and developing customer relationships for hydraulic field services—including piping installations, HPU installations and retrofits, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. This role bridges technical field knowledge with customer service and business development to drive service revenue growth and enhance client satisfaction. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager.

  • Identify, pursue, and close new business in targeted industrial markets (e.g., steel, oil & gas, and manufacturing).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers requiring hydraulic field services and solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential Customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Conduct site visits to assess customer needs and the scope of work.
  • Quote and sell field services including installations, retrofits, repairs, and maintenance programs.
  • Work closely with field technicians and the project manager to scope, price, and schedule work.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of service opportunities and manage the sales cycle from lead to close.
  • Provide technical insight and product/service recommendations to Customers.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, demonstrations, and technical training sessions as needed.
  • Assist in resolving field service issues to ensure complete Customer satisfaction.
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key Supplier partners.
  • Track all activities using CRM software and regularly report on sales performance.

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and/or abilities required for this role.


EDUCATION:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial or hydraulic sales, preferably with field service exposure.
  • Prior hands-on hydraulic or mechanical experience a strong plus.
  • Proven track record in sales, especially in selling technical products or services

Requirements:

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, and service procedures.
  • Proven track record of sales success in a technical environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand hydraulic schematics.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within assigned territory.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some movement from area to area, transporting items such as a laptop computer, small products or parts, product books or catalogs. Position also requires long periods of sitting while driving or riding as a passenger in an automobile to customer sites. Ability to effectively communicate using company-issued devices such as laptop, mobile phone, etc.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to a general office environment. Must be able to move through customer sites, including warehouses, shipyards, oil field rigs, manufacturing facilities, and related machinery, etc. Work outside normal business hours may be required.
