We are a well established Mid Size CPA firm in Oakland CA that has been serving the Bay area for the last 40+ years. The firm has been growing which is we're looking to add a few experienced Senior Tax Associates to our growing team.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Tax Associate to join our growing tax team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, conducting tax research, and assisting with tax planning initiatives for a variety of clients or business entities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Assist with tax planning and strategy for clients or internal business units, identifying potential savings and risk areas.
- Conduct research on complex tax issues and prepare technical memoranda and documentation.
- Manage client relationships or internal stakeholders, including regular communications and timely response to inquiries.
- Review and analyze financial statements to determine tax implications.
- Support compliance with tax reporting deadlines and regulatory changes.
- Train and mentor junior associates and interns, reviewing their work and providing feedback.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as audit, legal, and finance as needed.
- Assist with IRS and state tax audits, including preparation of documentation and communication with tax authorities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters in Taxation (MST) or CPA certification .
- 3+ years of tax experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Compensation:
Salary based on Experience but can be upwards of $125K base
