Job Description

A major Japanese manufacturing company is seeking for candidates for distribution planner.


Entry level welcome!

No Japanese skill is required.

Familiarity with Japanese culture and Japanese skill, plus!


Salary: 55K & bonus


Working Hour: Monday to Friday 7:30 am - 4:30pm (Hybrid)



A: Shipment Management (Factory to Customer)


  • Manage daily outbound orders by confirming and approving them for the 3PL warehouse based on customer consolidated ship dates. Create deliveries manually as necessary.
  • Address urgent requests from Customer Account Coordinators and manage inbound shipments from to warehouse. Update system delays (OASIS) and notify Customer Account Coordinators for urgent shipments.
  • File and follow up on claims with appropriate parties (warehouse, forwarder) for any damaged or lost materials.
  • Conduct Transit Lead Time Analysis monthly and upon HQ request.


B: Full Allocation Scenarios


  • Maintain and update the allocation spreadsheet daily to determine available quantities and allocate materials based on established work instruction logic.
  • Review daily order confirmations for allocated materials based on customer quantity availability and consolidated shipping dates for the 3PL warehouse.
  • Inform the Material Planner Group regarding any incoming material delays that will impact the full allocation quantity.


C, D, & E: Data, Excess Stock, and Carrier Plate Operations


  • Data & File Management: Receive, review, and save forwarders’ logs and invoices. Download and create essential data for the Material Planning Group.
  • Tenbai (Excess Stock): Process orders from sales subsidiaries for excess stock, arrange delivery, and send shipping documents. Distribute excess stock lists received from other subsidiaries to the Material Planning Group (MPG) and issue corresponding POs upon MPG request, monitoring shipment until receipt.
  • Carrier Plate: Manage customer orders, arrange delivery, and send shipping documents. Prepare forecast data for the Accounting group and supplier. Prepare quotations for new items, support the RMA process, and create/distribute the annual pricing file.


F: Other Support Duties


  • Provide backup support for other team members within the Distribution Planner/Delivery Control group.
  • Assist with the creation of cross-dock or in-bond documents, review 3PL flat file errors, and support the preparation of monthly reports.



■Qualifications

・Knowledge of computer software, such as SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel and order entry software. Note - SAP-R3, sales & distribution experience is desirable.

・Knowledge of forwarder’s import to USA process is a plus.

・Knowledge of procurement and inventory management concepts is a plus.

・Knowledge of customer service and operations is a plus.

・ Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience.
