Position Overview:
Responsible for proper maintenance of HVAC equipment. Troubleshoots and performs repairs to HVAC equipment and controls for the owned and leased facilities operated by Hunter Douglas, Inc., Window Fashions Division, Broomfield, CO.
What you'll do
- Maintain schedule and conduct HVAC preventive maintenance, filter and belt changes. Troubleshoot HVAC equipment, controls and associated systems. Perform repairs on rooftop units, exhaust systems and control systems that provide heating, cooling and ventilation
- Works closely with Mechanical Systems Supervisor and other Facilities staff to ensure optimum equipment and thermostat operations to ensure proper comfort levels throughout the facility.
- Write and relay work orders related to work performed on HVAC equipment and maintain a history log on HVAC equipment repairs and changes.
- Maintains inventory of replacement parts required to minimize unit down time.
- Work on water, air and other piping systems within the facilities as required.
- Oversee work performed by outside contractors and their sub contractors to ensure conformity to Hunter Douglas standards for quality and safety and to maintain HVAC systems at optimal performance and life expectancy.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Assist Facilities Service Representatives where required to help maintain building systems and building maintenance when HVAC demands are low.
Who you are
- HVAC Experience (5-7 years)
- Solid ability and commitment to work safely while following both OSHA and Hunter Douglas safety practices, including hot work permits, scissor lifts, lock out/tag out and fall arrest gear.
- Solid ability to read mechanical blueprints and HVAC equipment schematics
- Solid knowledge of and commitment to upholding applicable industry, local, state, and federal regulations including international codes addressing safety, health, and environmental matters related to mechanical systems and building system
- Solid knowledge of proper HVAC maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of various HVAC related equipment and controls by properly using and interpreting, information from ammeters and voltmeters.
- Solid ability to use various HVAC repair equipment, such as refrigeration recover machines, vacuum pumps, refrigerant scale, oxy/acetylene torch, MAPP gas (propane) torch, etc.
- Solid knowledge of the proper functions and repairs of various HVAC components such as fan motors, refrigeration compressors, heating controls, contactors, sheaves, and economizers
- Basic knowledge of Carrier CCN controls and computer based access programs such as Service Tool, and/or i-Vu plus
- Solid ability working with various piping components such as: PVC, and copper pipe and associated fittings for compressed air, water and process piping.
- Solid ability using computers including Word, Excel and HVAC related programs used on campus
- Basic knowledge working with ductwork and various types of air diffusers and grills.
