The Willows of West Hills is seeking a Certified HVAC Technician who will also serve as a key member of our on-site maintenance team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, as well as a wide range of general maintenance duties across our 250-unit community. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded technician with HVAC certification, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive, -first mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, and ventilation equipment.
- Perform general maintenance tasks, including unit turns, work order completion, and routine property upkeep.
- Inspect and maintain property structures and common areas, including interior and exterior features.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, lighting, and utility systems as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of HVAC, lighting, and other building systems to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Assist with preparation of vacant units for new , including appliance installation, painting, and minor carpentry.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls, participating in the on-call rotation (approximately every 3-4 weeks).
- Ensure all work is completed in a timely, professional manner and in compliance with safety and building codes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and provide excellent customer service to and team members.
Qualifications:
- EPA Section 608 HVAC Certification (Required)
- 3+ years of HVAC and general maintenance experience, preferably in a multi-family or residential setting
- Proficient in HVAC diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, plumbing repair, and general property maintenance
- Ability to read technical manuals and maintenance work orders
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and handle physical demands of the role
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
