Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. The HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems in residential and/or commercial settings. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:

System Diagnosis and Repair:
-
Diagnose and troubleshoot diverse service issues, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of HVAC/R systems (furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, refrigeration units, etc.).

Perform comprehensive repairs, component replacements, and adjustments to ensure optimal system performance and efficiency.

Recharge refrigerant levels, check for leaks, and ensure proper refrigerant cycle function.

Preventative Maintenance & Installation:

Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of HVAC/R systems to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable operation. This includes cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components.

Install new HVAC/R equipment, ducting, and related electrical components according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.

Customer Interaction:

Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, explaining diagnosed issues, proposed solutions, and maintenance tips.

Provide honest recommendations for system upgrades or replacements based on customer needs and system condition.

Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Complete work orders, collect payments (if applicable), and obtain customer signatures upon job completion.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and guidelines, including proper handling of refrigerants (EPA regulations), electrical safety, and ladder safety.

Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal HVAC codes and regulations.

Documentation & Vehicle Management:
-
Maintain accurate records of all service calls, repairs performed, parts used, and system details.

Manage and maintain company-provided vehicle, ensuring it is clean, well-stocked with parts and tools, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.

Participate in company-provided training to stay current with industry technologies and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Certification:
-
High School Diploma or GED required.
-
Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship .
-
EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
-
NATE certification(s) strongly .

Experience:
-
Minimum of 3+ years of verifiable experience as an HVAC Service Technician (residential, commercial, or both, depending on company focus).

Proven experience diagnosing, repairing, and installing a wide range of HVAC/R equipment.

Technical Skills:
-
Strong understanding of HVAC electrical and mechanical components, refrigeration cycles, and control systems.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints( but not required) , wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

Familiarity with smart thermostats and energy management systems is a plus.
