Salary: up to 52,000\ndepending on skills and experience + Overtime
\n
What you’ll be\ndoing:
- Works with a\nhigh degree of technical autonomy, using expertise to provide advice and\nguidance to other professionals within project/team.
- Using the programme delivery plan, prioritise team\nactivities to ensure schedule and cost-effective working is\ndelivered alongside quality expectations
- Act\nas a project focal point for discipline specific tasks, championing\ncontinuous improvement, ensuring best practices are adopted, and\nensuring overall compliance to the discipline strategy
- Deploying high expertise in engineering\ntoolsets including CAD and information management tools to deliver\ncomplex design\nactivities through to completion
- Use knowledge\nand experience of the discipline to make decisions and facilitate\nproblem-solving guided by policies, procedures and business\nplan
- Able to effectively escalate where\nappropriate complex\ndesign issues and advise Detail Design Delivery Team Lead on proposed technical\nresolutions where there is an impact to predicted programme\ndelivery plan
- Advise Detail Design Team\nLead and Technical\nSpecialist of capability gaps and development needs of team so they\ncan be addressed using training and development plans
- May act as an informal or indirect leadership resource, supporting\nactivities such as skills coaching, mentoring and contributing to\nmanagement\nreporting

Your skills\nand experiences:
- \n
- Experience of large-scale engineering projects or\ntechnical roles
- Requires a breadth and depth\nof specialist technical knowledge and a broad experience of\nprocesses, data, systems and the business environment
- HNC/HND qualified, (technology, engineering or science\nrelated discipline). Requires completion of vocational training\n(Apprenticeship, Vocational Qualifications) or the equivalent\nexperience
- HVAC experience or Auxiliary\nSystems , Considerable experience in engineering or\ntechnical role
- Ship Building\nexperience

The Systems Design\nServices HVAC team:
The BAE\nSystems Design Services HVAC Team consists of 15 engineers, that\ndevelop and delivering HVAC design guidance’s, testing,\ncommissioning and fault finding for all current naval platforms\nbased in Portsmouth Naval Base.
HVAC Technical\nLead, you will have the\nskills and experience for your primary role of supporting a defined\nrange of detail design activities in line with all relevant\nprocesses and quality requirements, supplying advice and support to\noperations and other functions and ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst\ncontinually maintaining quality and service requirements.
