Universal Heating & Cooling is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Service Technician to join our team. As a Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing top-notch heating and cooling solutions to our clients. This position offers a competitive compensation package, including a base hourly rate and commission on services provided.
**Responsibilities:**
1. **Technical Expertise:**
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Identify and troubleshoot system malfunctions to determine the root cause of issues.
2. **Customer Service:**
- Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Communicate effectively to explain technical issues and provide recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
3. **Installation and Upgrades:**
- Install new HVAC systems and components as needed.
- Recommend and implement system upgrades to enhance performance and energy efficiency.
4. **Documentation:**
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Provide detailed reports to customers and internal management.
5. **Safety and Compliance:**
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance standards.
6. **Team Collaboration:**
- Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and industry best practices.
**Qualifications:**
- **Technical Skills:**
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in HVAC systems installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of heating and cooling systems, ventilation, and related equipment.
- **Certifications:**
- HVAC certification or relevant licenses preferred.
- **Customer Focus:**
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
- **Communication:**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- **Problem Solving:**
- Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
- **Commission Structure:**
- Earn a competitive commission of 12.5% on total service sales.
- **Base Pay:**
- Receive a base pay of $30 per hour.
