Company Profile:

A small, growing engineering firm located in the Tampa Bay area providing HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection engineering design and construction administration services to Owners, Architects and Contractors for commercial, industrial, educational and healthcare facilities. The majority of our work involves renovations, systems replacement/upgrades and facilities assessments. We are searching for an experienced HVAC and Plumbing Engineer to join our team.

Job Description:

The HVAC/Plumbing Engineer’s primary responsibility will be to coordinate and develop HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection plans using Revit from initial conception to final permit documents. This position will also be responsible for the construction administration phase of the projects they design. Excellent people skills and effective communication skills are a must.

HVAC & Plumbing Engineer Responsibilities:

Design HVAC and plumbing systems, perform detailed load calculations and equipment sizing and selection.

Plan and manage the design of HVAC and Plumbing system from initial conception, through permitting and construction phase.

Perform site investigations and systems analysis for a variety of facilities to determine cause of IAQ complaints and provide written reports with analysis and recommendations for corrective action.

Review and verify code compliance of system designs.

Preparation of HVAC and Plumbing plans and system layouts in Revit, and specifications in WORD.

Perform construction administration tasks including submittal/shop drawing reviews, site inspections, creation of punch lists.

Continually search code, published design criteria and professional literature to find answers and solutions to specific design questions.

Organizes and maintains a system of records.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Must have good communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects, including multiple tasks and deadlines, through completion.

Good time-management oversight skills

Self-motivated and very detailed oriented.

Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

BSME (with HVAC Specialty) from an ABET accredited engineering program and EI certificate.

Very strong desire to obtain PE Licensure.

Minimum five (5) years' experience in HVAC and Plumbing systems for commercial, K-12, governmental and healthcare facilities.

Knowledge of the Florida Building Code, ASHRAE, NFPA

Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD MEP (NO EXCEPTIONS).

Must be able to pass Jessica Lundsford requirements.

US Citizenship required.

Interest in cross training in other disciplines (electrical, fire protection)

Must be currently located in the Tampa Bay Area and have personal transportation. This is NOT a work from home position.
