Reports To: Human Resources Director
Shift: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
Status: Exempt

About Applied Behavior Center for Autism:
At the Applied Behavior Center for Autism, our mission is to provide individualized, evidence-based services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families.
Position Overview:
The Human Resources Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day HR operations within the Applied Behavior Center for Autism. This role includes recruitment, employee onboarding, record-keeping, benefits administration, and providing general HR support to staff and leadership. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have a passion for supporting a positive work culture.
Required Qualifications:

1-2 years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting.
Compensation:
Pay: $41,000 - 43,500 plus commission

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding:
-
Assist with the recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing applications, conducting initial candidate screenings, and coordinating interviews.

Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire documentation, conducting orientations, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and on time.

Ensure a smooth transition for new employees by providing support and answering questions related to benefits, policies, and workplace expectations.
Employee Records & Data Management:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR management system.

Assist with tracking employee leave, attendance, and other HR-related data.

Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements by managing documentation and records retention.
Benefits Administration:

Assist employees with benefits enrollment, questions, and issues related to health insurance, retirement plans, and other company benefits.

Coordinate open enrollment periods and communicate relevant benefits information to staff.

Help with the processing of benefits claims and any related employee concerns.
Employee Relations & Support:

Serve as a point of contact for employees with HR-related questions or concerns, providing assistance and guidance as needed.

Assist with performance management processes, including scheduling performance reviews and tracking employee progress.

Support efforts to foster a positive workplace culture by assisting with employee recognition, morale-building activities, and staff engagement initiatives.
Compliance & Reporting:

Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FMLA, ADA, and EEOC regulations.

Help with the preparation of HR reports, such as employee headcount, turnover, and other HR metrics for management.

Assist in maintaining and updating the employee handbook and HR policies as needed.
Qualifications:

Experience using HR software, such as ADP, Workday, or BambooHR.

Basic knowledge of payroll processing and labor laws.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Previous experience working in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.

Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.).

Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff at all levels.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HR software systems.

High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Work Environment:

The work environment is primarily within the Applied Behavior Center for Autism’s office. The Human Resources Associate will work closely with leadership and staff to ensure smooth HR operations. Some tasks may require coordination with other departments or external vendors.
