Human Resources Administrator (ADF Gap Year)
Gain skills for life in a unique 12-month Gap Year as an Army Human Resource Administrator. This isn't your average office job - it's better. In an exciting twist, you'll have the opportunity to work in barracks, out in the field on exercise or even on domestic operations.As a Human Resources Administrator, you'll be a member of the Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps (RAAOC) and will play a meaningful role in the well-being of personnel in each Army unit. Learn more about the Human Resources Administrator role here.Throughout your Gap Year program, you will be supported by professional and dedicated Army personnel, who will provide the guidance necessary for you to get the most out of this experience.Your training will begin at Kapooka in Wagga Wagga, NSW, where you’ll complete approximately 9 weeks of recruit training. Training will involve physical training, weapon handling and shooting, first aid as well as, drill and field craft. It’s challenging, but it will prepare you for anything.Once you complete your Initial Military Training you’ll begin your Initial Employment Training in Bandiana, VIC where you will complete the Human Resources Administrator Course. Then you’ll be posted to one of the many Army bases across Australia. Here you’ll join an experienced team and have opportunities to put your new skills to the test. All while making friends and gaining experience that will last you a lifetime. While your surroundings may change, your job role remains consistent and is essential to the effective operation of the Army.So, what happens next? After finishing your Gap Year program, you can choose to continue your career in the Army or use the skills and experiences to gain an edge in future careers. There’s no obligation to serve beyond the one-year program period.
