Job Title: HSE Specialist / WSER III [C]
Location: Alpine, Alaska
Schedule: 14 / 14 Rotation
 Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced HSE Specialist / WSER III to support an Exploration/Seismic team in Alaska. This role will provide on-the-ground Safety and Health expertise, ensuring safe execution of exploration activities in alignment with company policies, the Alaska Safety Handbook, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in oil and gas HSE, is comfortable working in remote and challenging environments, and can effectively coach and influence both field and leadership personnel.
 Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Safety and Health resource for the Exploration/Seismic team.
  • Identify safety risks and issues, develop practical mitigation strategies, and effectively communicate these to HSE and field leadership.
  • Support and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, training, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide safety leadership and coaching to management, supervisors, and field employees.
  • Promote and support adherence to the Alaska Safety Handbook, company HSE standards, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Participate in and/or lead Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), toolbox talks, safety meetings, and field inspections.
  • Monitor field operations for compliance with established safe work practices (permit to work, energy isolation, confined space, working at heights, etc.).
  • Support incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis, and track completion of corrective actions.
  • Assist with HSE training, onboarding, and of field personnel and contractors.
  • Provide guidance on emergency response planning, drills, and readiness in coordination with field leadership.
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation, records, and regulatory reporting as required.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HSE experience in the oil and gas industry (exploration, drilling, seismic, or production ).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting field operations in remote or harsh environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • HSE regulatory requirements (OSHA and applicable state regulations).
    • Company HSE management systems, safe work practices, and risk management tools.
  • Proven ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement mitigation measures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Proficient in incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action tracking.

Qualifications

  • Prior Alaska North Slope or remote Arctic operations experience.
  • WSER III or equivalent emergency response / rescue certification.
  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, STCW, NEBOSH, CSP, CHST, or equivalent).
  • Current First Aid/CPR and basic emergency response training.
  • Experience working with or supporting Exploration/Seismic crews and associated contractors.

Work Conditions

  • Role will support field-based operations in Alaska; candidate must be able to work in cold weather and remote environments.
  • Schedule and rotation to be confirmed; flexibility for extended hours and varying schedules during field campaigns is required.
