HSE Business Analyst

Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team. This role is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency, driving business results, and enabling data-informed decision-making across the organization. It combines advanced data analysis, strategic planning, project execution, and stakeholder collaboration to improve performance, support organizational change, and ensure data integrity.
Key ResponsibilitiesData & Reporting
- Design, develop, and implement KPIs and dashboards to track business performance and accountability.
- Write SQL queries for reporting, data extraction, and dataset creation.
- Develop and maintain visualizations and dashboards using Power BI and Tableau.
- Monitor and optimize data systems, including stored procedures and execution times.
- Enforce data analysis best practices and ensure consistent data management across departments.
- Provide guidance and training to non-technical users on data tools and querying best practices.
Strategic Initiatives & Operational Improvement
- Lead and support internal initiatives to improve operational efficiency and execute strategic growth plans.
- Partner with leadership teams to assess current performance methods and recommend improvements.
- Work directly with executive and operational leadership to develop strategic execution frameworks and operational excellence metrics.
- Collaborate with project managers, leadership, and end users to define and document technical dependencies and reporting requirements.
- Analyze root causes of non-conformances and lead the development of corrective actions.
Change Management & Training
- Partner with the Training Coordinator to design and deliver materials that support organizational change initiatives and compliance.
- Help develop routines and documentation that promote the adoption of new systems, dashboards, and data processes.
- Support organization-wide change management through data literacy initiatives and training.
Data Integration & System Development
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate data tools with existing systems.
- Lead the research, evaluation, and implementation of new technology solutions and software systems to improve program operations, drive innovation, and support strategic goals.
- Potential use of MS Power Platform technology integration with datasets and Power BI dashboards.
- Define and manage change control and testing processes for data models and reports.
Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseEducation:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- : Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MS in Data Analytics, or Operations Management)
Experience:
- 3–5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience supporting or working within Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) operations or similar compliance-driven environments.
- Demonstrated understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance standards, and safety-related performance metrics.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong proficiency in SQL (complex queries, data cleaning, dataset creation).
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including pivot tables, INDEX/MATCH, and nested formulas.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and Databricks.
- Demonstrated experience in data visualization, BI tools, and dashboard development.
- Ability to translate complex data and technical requirements into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Experience in designing and executing strategic initiatives or change management programs.
- Background in quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), or process improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
- Experience working with executive leadership teams and contributing to board-level reporting.
