HSE Advisor

Main Duties



* Work closely with the HSE Manager to maintain and improve Environmental and Health and Safety Management System to ISO14001 &45001 externally audited standards.



* Conduct internal audits in HSE and oversee the delivery of corrective actions.



* Deliver in-house toolbox talks to employees about health and safety issues and risks.



* Assist in the investigation of accidents/incidents and facilitate corrective actions where necessary.



* Produce statistics for managers and committee meetings as required.



* Challenge any unsafe practices and behaviour.



* Assist in the management of waste and help to reduce disposal where possible.



* Work with and assist to help ensure HSE compliance.



* Assist with carrying out regular checks of policies and procedures.



* Implement all policies and procedures.



* Produce monthly reports, newsletters and bulletins as required.



* Revise and assist supervisor with risk assessments.



* Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.



* Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer’s industry..



* Manage and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances



* Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.



* Requirements to carry out the role



Qualification’s & skills required:



* Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE



* Candidates have a solid foundation in production processes and excellent organisational skills.



* COSHH Assessments experience.



* Risk and method statement experience.



* Experience with facilitating external audits.



* Management of Toolbox talks



* Environmental experience



* Personal characteristics/Attributes required:



* To be able to work well using own initiative and as part of a team.



* Ability to ensure tasks gets done in a timely and effective manner.



* Ability to follow all Company policies and procedures.



* Good written and verbal communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail are essential.



* Self-motivated
