HR Project Manager

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe HR Project Manager will provide project support to a variety of assigned clients across multiple industries. The ideal candidate will take ownership of assigned deliverables and be comfortable in managing up communications. The position reports to the Director of Talent and Development, a leader with 20+ years’ experience in client facing and consultative human resources and crisis management. Specific expertise in payroll processing and/or HRIS implementation is highly desirable. Success characteristics include: accuracy, confidentiality, time management, regulatory compliance, sense of urgency, follow-thru, learning on the fly, written communications, problem solving and critical thinking. This position requires a high degree of daily prioritization and triage based on client need. Willingness to accept feedback and learn from coachable moments directly from clients is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in human resources, business administration or related degree OR PHR/SHRM-CP and 7+ years demonstrated experience.
• Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience.
• PHR certification or ability to attain within 1 year of employment.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and background check is required.

Typical Duties

• Acts as first or second chair for investigations related to employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints or other employee concerns with affected clients and makes verbal and/or written recommendations for resolution.
• Answers phone calls, directs calls to appropriate parties or takes messages and greets visitors and determines whether they should be given access to specific individuals.
• Assists and provides problem resolution guidance, as requested, to junior human resource professionals on matters related to recruitment, performance management, employee development and supervisor coaching, as requested.
• Assists in evaluating job positions; determining classification, FLSA status, EEO, salary, working conditions and physical requirements.
• Assists in the interpretation and explanation of human resource policies, procedures and practices.
• Conducts reference and background checks on candidates and evaluates selection and testing techniques by conducting research or following-up activities and conferring with management and supervisory personnel.
• Conducts research necessary to create client specific job descriptions and document market wages.
• Develops collateral material encouraging client communication, skills building and professional development; actively supports life-long learner mentality.
• Documents findings of studies and prepares recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures or organizational changes.
• Drafts and organizes policy and writes papers, multimedia visual aids and other informational materials; presents information and provides explanation of learning objectives.
• Drafts, designs and presents compliance and leadership development training based on client’s needs.
• Prepares and reconciles employee and client updates including entering and storing relevant data in file sharing and/or payroll software.
• Prepares reports, such as organization charts, flow charts and career paths, to summarize job analysis, evaluation and compensation information.
• Provides full payroll processing and HRIS support to clients (time allocation, learning management, tax filings, data accuracy, module implementation, etc).
• Provides project support including, but not limited to: compiling and documenting client data, assembling training materials, entering sensitive employee data and hosting client meetings.
• Responds to client specific requests for employee information including, but not limited to: rate changes. leave balances, wage accruals, benefit changes and deductions, licensing, certification, new hires and employee separations.
• Reviews and evaluates candidate’s qualifications or eligibility for employment and conducts pre-screening interviews to obtain information on work history, training, education and job skills.
•Utilizes software to create client forms for publication. Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.

• Non-exempt, Onsite, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, flexible hours may be requested after 90 days of successful employment.
