Job Title: Chief Engineer

Location: Near Bloomington Illinois

Compensation: $26 - $30/hour


Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chief Engineer to oversee the maintenance and engineering operations of our hotel. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our property. Compensation Details:

  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) & EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) Certified Candidates: $26 - $30 / hr
  • Certification Reimbursement: We offer reimbursement for obtaining CPO and EPA certifications. Upon completion, your hourly rate may increase to reflect your new qualifications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of hotel facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel standards.
  • Manage and coordinate a team of maintenance staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
  • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests to ensure a positive experience.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
  • Collaborate with hotel management to address long-term maintenance needs and capital improvement projects.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of pool systems, adhering to health and safety standards (CPO certification required).
  • Handle refrigerants and HVAC systems in compliance with EPA regulations (EPA certification required).


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training .
  • Proven experience in hotel maintenance or a similar engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool systems.
  • CPO and EPA certifications (reimbursement available for obtaining these certifications).
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
