Highways Development Control Engineer (Planning)
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluating and processing planning and highway development applications
Ensuring compliance with relevant highway legislation, policies, and standards
Conducting site visits to assess proposed development impacts on the highway network
Providing technical advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
Reviewing and approving highway designs and transport assessments
Managing and coordinating responses to consultations regarding development proposals
Liaising with developers, consultants, and other relevant parties to resolve development control issues
Monitoring and ensuring the implementation of development-related highway agreements
Job Requirements:
Experience in highways development control or a related discipline
Strong understanding of highway design standards and relevant legislation
Ability to review and assess planning applications and transport assessments
Proficiency in conducting site visits and preparing technical reports
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
Relevant engineering or planning degree or equivalent qualification
