Job Title: High Voltage / Medium Voltage Installation, Engineering & Commissioning Engineer
Client: Pioneering Green Steel Production Company
Assignment Type: Annually Renewable Contract Position
Location: Boden, Sweden
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8 hours per day)
Kintec are currently partnered with a pioneering Green Steel Production Company who are constructing a plant in Northern Sweden that will produce Green Steel - Green Steel production emits up to 95% less CO ₂ compared conventional steel production.
JOD DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering:
- Review and verify electrical design documents, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, and layout drawings.
- Coordinate with the design team, suppliers, and clients to ensure compliance with project specifications and Swedish regulations.
- Provide technical input during design phases and support value engineering efforts.
- Assist in preparing Bill of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications, and interface documentation.
Installation:
- Supervise and inspect on-site installation of HV/MV electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, cables, earthing systems, and control panels.
- Ensure installations are carried out as per drawings, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Support contractor teams with technical clarifications and site modifications.
- Coordinate installation sequences and monitor progress against project schedules.
Commissioning:
- Plan, execute, and document commissioning activities for HV/MV systems.
- Perform testing and energization of transformers, breakers, relays, and communication systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during startup or testing.
- Liaise with local utilities (e.g., Svenska kraftnät) for final grid connection approvals.
- Deliver commissioning reports, redline drawings, and test records.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
- 5+ years of experience in HV/MV engineering, installation, and commissioning.
- Familiarity with systems up to 150 kV, including AIS/GIS substations, control & protection schemes, and SCADA interfaces.
- Experience working under Swedish electrical codes and European IEC standards.
- Strong understanding of relay logic, testing tools (e.g., Omicron, Megger), and safety protocols.
- Fluent in English; Swedish proficiency is a strong asset.
- Must be eligible to work in the Sweden.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of ESA 19, Elsäkerhetsverket guidelines, and Svenska kraftnät requirements.
- Experience with HV projects, HV cable terminations, or FACTS systems is a plus.
- Strong reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site across Sweden.
