Location: Triangle Area (Raleigh–Durham–Chapel Hill)Employment Type: Full-Time (40+ hours/week)Reports To: CEO, Kirby Ventures

We’re looking for a highly skilled and self-sufficient Heavy Equipment, Truck, and Small Engine Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles and equipment across several partner companies including an equipment rental company, plumbing company, landscaping company, and pressure washing company. This role offers steady, full-time work supporting multiple service-based businesses under one umbrella, with a flexible and dynamic weekly schedule.

Responsibilities include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing trucks, trailers, small engines, and heavy equipment such as mowers, skid steers, and power washers. The mechanic will travel between company locations throughout the Triangle to perform on-site maintenance and field repairs, maintain service logs and repair records, and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. The role requires troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, clear communication with company managers to prioritize work each week, and ensuring all work meets safety and compliance standards.

Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanic working with small engines, trucks, or heavy equipment. Must supply own tools. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required; CDL but not necessary. Must be comfortable working primarily outdoors in various weather conditions and willing to travel throughout the Triangle area for on-site repairs. Must be self-sufficient and able to work independently while meeting deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits: Competitive Salaried rate based on experience. Truck provided or reimbursement for use of personal work truck. Fuel card and parts reimbursement available.
