Heavy Equipment Technician

We are presently seeking a  Heavy Equipment Technician to join our John Deere dealership in Red Deer.  The Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction, aggregate/ crushing units, pavers/ compaction and forestry-based equipment and attachments in a shop / field environment.   Duties & Responsibilities Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently Dismantle, repair, and assemble industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications Operate hoisting devices to position machinery and parts during assembly, installation, and/or repair activities Test and provide constructive feedback on existing and newly manufactured industrial equipment Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery Prepare electronic inspection and service reports Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required Other duties as required #LI-onsite Required Skills Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds   Required Experience Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred Must be committed to customer service and service excellence       Discover The Brandt Advantage When you work for Brandt, we work for you.  It’s as simple as that.  That means on-the-job education to develop new skills, advancement opportunities, a comprehensive benefits package and more – all backed by unmatched job security.
