Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. This role is responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery used in the installation of underground utilities, HVAC piping systems, and site preparation for mechanical construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and loaders to support piping and utility installation.

Excavate and grade trenches safely and accurately based on blueprints, site plans, and project requirements.

Assist with loading/unloading materials and equipment.

Perform routine maintenance checks and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.

Work closely with pipefitters, plumbers, and foremen to ensure timely and safe project completion.

Follow all company and OSHA safety guidelines and procedures.

Participate in daily safety meetings and communicate hazards or risks to the supervisor.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction setting (preferably mechanical or utility-focused).

Valid driver's license required; CDL .

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Ability to read and interpret site plans and utility layouts.

Strong understanding of job site safety protocols and trenching/shoring practices.

Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform labor tasks as needed.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, and operate equipment for extended periods.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Capable of climbing in and out of machinery and working in uneven terrain.
