Heavy Equipment Operator - Concrete Curb and Gutter Machine

Kirkpatrick Concrete of Burlington, Inc. is a locally owned concrete construction business serving North Carolina for the past 42 years. Our primary focus is commercial curb and gutter construction. We are currently seeking to right individual(s) for join our team as a concrete curb and gutter machine operator and /or foreman. The ideal candidate(s) should be experienced in heavy equipment operation, yet open to learning how to operate a curb and gutter machine. We are looking for reliable, dependable people with a great work ethic. Pay is competitive, but will depend on your work experience and will be discussed during an interview.

Successful candidates should have the qualifications/experience listed below;

• Prior experience in construction, concrete/grading experience
• Experience operating heavy machinery
• Experience operating a curb machine is a plus,however not required, will train
• Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and organizational skills

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ability to safely operate and maintain the curb machine
• Performs pre-operation safety inspections
• Ensures company equipment is maintained and in good running condition
• Reads and understands blueprints and cut sheets
• Sets and checks grades
• String line setup
• Ability to take direction from site foreman to complete daily tasks and meet project goals for job site
• Travels from job site to job site when/as needed
• Works closely with other crew members; in a fast-paced environment
• Performs other labor duties as assigned by the foreman or project manager
• Must be reliable and have the ability to work overtime as needed
• Follows all company rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 22 years of or older/for insurance requirements
• Must have a Valid driver's license and a 5-year clean driving record
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
• Must be reliable and have the ability to work overtime as needed
• Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and meet necessary deadlines
• Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules
• Experience with hand tools associated with the trade
• Operating experience; Concrete experience is a plus
• Be able to set and check grades
