Position: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Status: Full time

Salary: Local Davis Bacon Prevailing Wage Rates - CA20240007

Hours: 40 hours +

Location: Livermore, CA

Reports to: American DND Project Manager/Superintendent

Key Responsibilities

• Heavy Equipment Operation: Performing mechanical demolitions, with hydraulic heavy equipment. Operate excavators, UHD’s, skid steers, etc. with shears, hammers, grapples.
• Maintenance: Perform daily inspections of equipment, greasing, checking fluids and maintenance documentation. Preventative maintenance activities.
• Hazard Mitigation: Strict adherence to EPA, OSHA, and contract-specific regulations.
• Environmental Remediation: Perform demolitions with hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, PCBs, heavy metals, and CERCLA/RCRA-defined wastes still present in the building or on the property.
• Radiological Demolition: Open-Air demolitions of LLW buildings. Work inside contamination areas (CAs), and high contamination areas (HCAs) with a general familiarity of Department of Energy demolition and remediation activities. Follow Radioactive Work Permits (RWP), Industrial Work Permits (IWP), and Hot Work Permits.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years wrecking experience with radiological and environmental projects.
• Heavy equipment operator with proven experience in safe overhead demolition
• Experience with use and maintenance of shears, grapples and hydraulic hammers
• OEM training for care, use and maintenance of machines
• Provide listing of past and current Safety Training and Certifications.

Equipment Familiarity: The equipment to be provided and utilized by American DND are the following:

• 80,000 lb. to 300,000 lb. class excavator (i.e. CAT 336)
• UHD Excavators from 60’ to 150’ high.
• Material Handlers for load-out, sorting, segregation and size reduction.
• Skid Steer Tracked Loader with assortment of attachments.
• Large Multi-processors, Shears and Hydraulic Hammers, concrete pulverizers.

Additional Info

• Ability to work in full PPE with all types of respirators.
