Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work at our Canton, OH location. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs all functions pertaining to the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty off-road construction equipment.We are a unique, 100-year-old family-owned company that transforms our recycled products into construction materials, lightweight aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, agricultural products, and more. We provide steel mill services, flame cutting and treatment, road building, logistics, laboratory testing, and a variety of other solutions for our customers.ResponsibilitiesThe Heavy Equipment Mechanic will:Comply with all safety regulations, policies and record keepingDismantle and reassemble trucks, machines, and equipment to gain access to problem areaChange oil, check and change batteries, and perform complete lubrication tasks on equipment and machineryMaintain work area to allow safe movement and accessVisually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctionsWeld, cut, and fabricate equipment and componentsMeet customer service expectationsSkillsThe ideal candidate will have:Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.Mechanical aptitudeKnowledge of off-road heavy equipmentKnowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, electrical systems, drivelines, steering mechanisms and suspensionsAbility to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipmentAbility to manipulate components in hard to reach places with hands or toolsGood verbal and written communication skills.Valid Driver’s LicenseWillingness to perform other duties as assigned.
