Heavy Diesel Mechanic- First Shift- $35 Starting

Position Description: The diesel mechanic will maintain and repair our fleet of tractor/trailers by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Furnish quality major in-house repairs to the Tractor/Trailer fleet
• Furnish quality minor in-house repairs to the Tractor/Trailer fleet
• Determine vehicle condition by conducting DOT inspections and diagnostic tests
• Identifying worn and damaged parts Complete preventive maintenance schedules Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics
• Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Railcar maintenance
• Keeping records
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with team members, vendors, and customers Perform other duties as assigned
• Ordering Parts

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Working knowledge in the use of hand tool 
•  Dependable attendance
• Computer use and knowledge
• Certified Diesel Mechanic
• CDL no required but
• 1-2 years Mechanical experience
